...

I've been teaching since Fall 2009 and am currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at Pratt Institute, a magical art school in Brooklyn with cats on its campus. I recently received Pratt's 2020-21 all-campus Distinguished Teacher Award in recognition of my work and the dedicated students whom I teach.

I'm also a Part-Time Lecturer at Parsons The New School for Design, where I co-teach hybrid studio/seminar courses (most frequently with the brilliant Yashua Klos). My research interests include 20th/21st century poetics, the lyric essay, experimental criticism, music writing, psychoanalysis, digital language art, interventionist art, critical animal studies, food politics, the philosophy of love, and Zen Buddhism. My teaching and artistic practices are interrelated, but I am resolutely student-centered and approach all of my classes with the understanding that the classroom can project a better world.
